Mouataz Alshaltouh is a graduate of the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and a scholarship recipient from the prestigious German Foundation for Integration. Immediately after completing his studies, he joined the Theater Dortmund before becoming a member of the ensemble at the Zurich Schauspielhaus. Productions in which he played leading roles were invited to the renowned German Theatertreffen. At the same time, he began appearing in his first major film and television productions that were screened at international festivals including the International Cannes Film Festival, the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and the Toronto International Film Festival.
